Rise before dawn for the most magical experience Morocco has to offer — a hot air balloon flight over the breathtaking landscape surrounding Marrakech at sunrise. As the first light touches the High Atlas peaks and the plains below turn gold, you'll drift silently above it all in a serene balloon, with views stretching 100 kilometres in every direction.
Your adventure begins at 5am with hotel pickup and a pre-dawn drive to the launch site on the edge of the Agafay Desert or the Haouz plains, depending on wind conditions. Watch in wonder as your pilot and crew inflate the enormous balloon in the soft morning light. Then climb into the basket and lift gently skyward as Marrakech wakes below you.
The 1-hour flight itself is a meditation in beauty — you'll float over olive and argan groves, Berber villages that have changed little in centuries, the glittering waterways of ancient irrigation channels, and the geometric patterns of traditional earthen architecture. Your pilot narrates the landscape, pointing out landmarks from the Koutoubia minaret to the distant peaks of Jebel Toubkal.
Upon landing, the crew greets you with a traditional Berber celebration — tea, local pastries, and a celebratory ceremony. Then enjoy a full Moroccan breakfast in a desert camp before being returned to your hotel. This is the pinnacle of the Marrakech experience — unhurried, silent, and utterly spectacular.

2
What is the best time of year for a balloon flight in Marrakech?
Marrakech hot air balloon flights operate year-round, but the best seasons are spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November) for the most comfortable temperatures and clearest visibility. Summer flights are possible but very warm on landing.
3
How many people are in the balloon basket?
Our balloons carry between 8 and 16 passengers in a shared basket, plus the pilot. Private balloon charters for 2-4 people are available on request for a more intimate experience. Please enquire at time of booking.

What happens if the flight is cancelled due to weather?
If wind or weather conditions are unsuitable, the flight will be rescheduled to the next available morning or you will receive a full refund. Our pilots prioritise safety above all else and will not fly in unsafe conditions.
