For over 50 years, Chez Ali has offered Marrakech visitors the most spectacular traditional Moroccan dinner show in the country — a mesmerising evening of equestrian artistry, acrobatics, music, and feasting that brings to life the great royal celebrations of the Moroccan sultans.
The legendary Fantasia (or Tbourida) is one of Morocco's most spectacular traditional art forms — a military equestrian performance in which lines of horsemen in traditional dress charge at full gallop before firing their muskets simultaneously into the air in a thunderous, perfectly synchronised explosion of smoke and sound. Combined with traditional horsemanship displays, acrobatic performances, whirling dervishes, and the sounds of gnawa music, the show is a genuine sensory spectacle.
The evening begins with a lavish traditional Moroccan dinner served in a magnificent Berber tent complex, with dishes including harira soup, Mechoui slow-roasted lamb, chicken and almond pastilla, couscous, and a parade of Moroccan salads and sweets. Performers entertain between courses with Berber music, traditional dance, and acrobatics.
Chef Ali's complex spans several hectares outside the Marrakech palmeraie and can host hundreds of guests simultaneously across multiple themed tent restaurants. The sheer scale and production quality of the evening is unlike anything else available in Morocco. An unmissable experience for any visitor who wants to understand the grandeur of Moroccan tradition.
